Terms of Use
Download as PDFThese Terms govern your use of the PaperToPhone Android application. Please read them before downloading or using the application.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By downloading, installing or using PaperToPhone, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the application.
Your use of PaperToPhone is also subject to the PaperToPhone Privacy Policy.
2. Purpose of the application
PaperToPhone is an offline-first mobile tool designed to help shift leaders and supervisors organize information about the current work shift.
PaperToPhone is not:
- a work scheduling or workforce planning system;
- a payroll, timekeeping or wage-calculation system;
- an official human resources or employee-record system;
- a legal, employment, medical or occupational-safety advisory service; or
- an emergency or safety-critical communication system.
Users remain responsible for following official workplace procedures, company systems and applicable laws.
3. Eligibility and authority
PaperToPhone is intended for professional workplace use and is not designed or directed toward children.
By using the application in a workplace, you confirm that you are authorized to use it and to enter any employee-related information that you record. You must not use PaperToPhone to process information that you are not legally or professionally authorized to handle.
4. License to use PaperToPhone
Subject to these Terms, the developer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable and revocable license to install and use PaperToPhone for personal or internal workplace purposes.
The application is licensed, not sold. No ownership rights in PaperToPhone are transferred to you.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use PaperToPhone for unlawful, fraudulent or unauthorized purposes;
- enter, disclose or distribute information in violation of privacy, employment or confidentiality obligations;
- copy, sell, sublicense, rent, redistribute or commercially exploit the application without written permission;
- modify, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer the application, except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- circumvent or interfere with security, integrity or technical restrictions; or
- use the application to distribute malicious code or harm another person, device or system.
6. User-entered information
You are responsible for the accuracy, lawfulness and appropriateness of information entered into PaperToPhone. If you record employee names, sickness-related absence information, notes or other workplace information, you must have an appropriate legal basis and authorization to do so.
You should enter only information that is necessary for managing the current shift and avoid recording unnecessary confidential or sensitive details.
7. Local storage and data recovery
PaperToPhone stores application data locally on the Android device by default. It does not provide developer-operated cloud synchronization, online storage or server-side data recovery.
The developer cannot recover data that is deleted, lost, corrupted or unavailable because a device is damaged, reset, replaced or otherwise inaccessible.
8. Backups
JSON backup files are created only when requested by the user. Exported backup files are not encrypted. You are responsible for choosing a secure storage location, protecting exported backups and deleting them when they are no longer needed.
Android may separately include local application data in a system backup according to the device and Google Account settings. Android system backups are controlled through Android and Google Account settings, not through PaperToPhone.
9. Reminders and notifications
PaperToPhone can create local reminder notifications. Delivery and timing may be affected by Android permissions, battery optimization, device settings, time changes, operating-system behavior or device manufacturer restrictions.
Reminder notifications are a convenience feature and must not be used as the sole method for safety-critical, legally required or time-critical workplace communication.
10. Availability and compatibility
The developer aims to keep PaperToPhone functional and reliable but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, compatibility with every Android device or version, or continued availability through any particular distribution channel.
Maintenance, operating-system changes, device limitations or circumstances outside the developer's control may temporarily or permanently affect functionality.
11. Updates and changes
The developer may provide updates, security fixes, compatibility changes and improvements. Features may be modified or discontinued for security, legal, technical, compatibility or product-development reasons.
Where reasonably possible, material changes that adversely affect normal use will be communicated in advance. You are responsible for installing available updates required for secure and compatible operation.
The current version does not include paid features. If purchases are introduced in the future, applicable prices and additional purchase terms will be disclosed before purchase.
12. Intellectual property
PaperToPhone, including its name, logo, visual design, documentation and original software, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted under these Terms are reserved by the developer.
Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their respective license terms. Nothing in these Terms limits rights granted under an applicable open-source license.
13. No professional advice
Information displayed or calculated by PaperToPhone is provided only as an organizational aid. It does not constitute legal, employment, payroll, medical, occupational-safety or other professional advice.
You are responsible for verifying information and decisions through the official systems, policies and qualified professionals applicable to your workplace.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
PaperToPhone is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer does not make warranties that the application will always be available, error-free, compatible with every device or suitable for every workplace process.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, statutory guarantee or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including loss of data, loss of profit, business interruption or loss resulting from reliance on reminder notifications.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability arising from intentional misconduct, fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury where applicable.
Mandatory consumer rights and remedies remain unaffected.
16. Third-party services
Distribution through Google Play, Android system backup and any cloud location selected for an exported file are provided by third parties. Their availability, operation and handling of information are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
The developer is not responsible for third-party services outside the developer's control.
17. Ending use and discontinuation
You may stop using PaperToPhone at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling the application normally removes local application data from the device, but it may not delete exported files or copies retained in Android system backups.
Your license under these Terms ends if you materially violate these Terms. The developer may discontinue future distribution, support or updates. Discontinuing distribution does not automatically remove an already installed copy from your device, but continued compatibility or support cannot be guaranteed.
18. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated when PaperToPhone, applicable law or distribution requirements change. The latest version, document version and effective date will be published at papertophone.com/terms.html.
Material changes will apply from the stated effective date. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires a different form of notice or consent.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections provided by the law of their country of habitual residence.
Before starting formal proceedings, you are encouraged to contact the developer so that the matter can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved. Nothing in these Terms restricts your right to use a competent court, authority or consumer-protection mechanism available under applicable law.
20. General provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
These Terms and the referenced Privacy Policy form the agreement governing your use of the current version of PaperToPhone.
